Who am I? Ashley Freeman: an independent consultant for orchard and vineyard growers in the beautiful Okanagan, British Columbia, as well as in China.
Based in Vernon, I travel frequently to Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu Provinces, China where I advise clients with starting, managing and maintaining cherry orchards and also consult for the provincial and county government agricultural departments.
After farming in South Africa on two parcels of over 250 hectares in diverse farming for over a decade, I immigrated to Canada to in 2007, going into the vineyards and orchards of the north Okanagan. I then moved on to the Creston Valley where I again established orchards, pioneering a planting style for the Canadian cherry industry.
I cover a broad range of consulting, starting from the ground up, to the premium carton on the export market, or the vintage of wine sought after by the discerning pallet.
